Pumpkin ABC Hunt

Last week, I set up a pumpkin alphabet scavenger hunt for A.  I took laminated pumpkins with letters on them that I had from teaching (I'm pretty sure I got them from Making Learning Fun ), put painter's tape on the back, and stuck them around the house.  A took her pink pumpkin pail and walked around looking for the pumpkin letters.

After a few rounds, she decided that she would hide the letters herself and then look for them.  We had a lot of fun with this and did it again and again!

Animal Crackers

This was a fun baking project A and I did this summer.  I got the cookie cutters off of ebay since Williams-Sonoma stopped selling them.  You can get the recipe right off of their website.  The cookies were yummy and we had a great time making them!

Breakfast picnic

A loves picnics.  We can get her to sit down for almost any meal as long as we call it a picnic.  Here she is eating some breakfast on a blanket in our living room.  She calls it having a "micnic"

Just like Dziadzia

My girl loves her dzia dzia (grandpa).  Last time he visited, the two of them shared a snack together.  Every time he took a drink, A had to take one too.  She watched out of the corner of her eyes to see when he'd put his glass down so she'd know when to put hers down.  Too precious!

Mama's helper

Before little sister was born, we got a few baby items out of storage.  This travel swing was one of them.  A would put a doll in it and pile blankets and pillows on top to "help."  We knew once the baby came, we'd have to keep an eye on our helper.  Sure enough, she brings her little sister blankets and toys and piles them on top of her.  We make sure she doesn't cover baby's face, and then we take the items off once A looks away.  I'm happy to have such a willing helper who does things without being asked!

Freezer box fort

We got a new deep freezer this summer.  A had fun using the box as a fort.  She would bring all of her toys and blankets from her bed to the fort and hang out in there.  Gotta love cheap, creative play!

Magnet puzzle

I got this Melissa and Doug magnet fishing puzzle on sale and A has really enjoyed it more than I thought she would!  We play with it, taking turns.  We tell each other which fish we caught or which fish we are going to try and catch.  I'm going to keep my eyes open for other magnet fishing puzzles.

Big Sister!!

Sorry we've been off the grid lately.  A became a big sister and we've been enjoying time at home with Daddy.  Today we are back to reality...just Mama and the girls.
A is a wonderful big sister.  She is always bringing Baby blankets and toys.  She'll run to her every time she hears a squeak to make sure Baby is okay.  She also loves to give hugs and kisses.
I'm looking forward to watching these girls grow up and to seeing their sweet relationship blossom.
